Luminofungus Chromaglowii, from Latin 'lumin' (light) and 'chroma' (color), is a rare stable species in the Aetherium Arborescens cluster. It has a robust pileus 0–15 cm high with a wavy margin and bright yellow to orange luminescent spots on a moist, textured surface. The cap’s lamellae emit warm orange light. The firm, rough-textured stipe shows luminescent patches extending from the cap. Bioluminescence derives from a luciferin-luciferase system emitting blue-green light (450–495 nm). It thrives on tropical forest floors at 15–25°C, decomposing organic matter. Classified in genus Luminofungus, family Aetheriaceae, order Agaricales, it disperses spores via exposed lamellae and contributes to nutrient cycling through its white mycelial network, decomposing lignocellulosic substrates and supporting soil health.
